An Augusta teen was charged Saturday with rape, accused of sexually assaulting his 16-year-old girlfriend in her car on March 30 after she got out of classes at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School.
Jaylon Wimberly, 18, of Peters Road, was jailed on the felony rape charge after an investigation into claims by his girlfriend that he forced sex on her after school. A Facebook page for Wimberly says he previously attended Lucy C. Laney High School.
According to a sheriff’s report, the girl opened up to her parents one day after the sexual assault. They called the cops before taking her to the hospital for a sexual assault kit.
The girl said Wimberly was waiting by her car in the school parking lot that Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. She got inside her vehicle, but her boyfriend asked her to step out and talk.
“While speaking with Wimberly, she observed him open the rear door of her vehicle and made her by unknown force get into the vehicle with him,” the report says. “She advised Wimberly to stop multiple times as he undressed himself and her.”
He then raped her while wearing protection. He later cleaned up the back seat with hydrogen peroxide before riding home on his bicycle.
Wimberly remained in jail Tuesday morning under no bond. The girl told authorities that she knew Wimberly from when she used to be enrolled in A.R. Johnson Magnet School. She has had a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with him since June 2020, the report says.
