RSCO Confirms: Narcotics Investigator Gets DUI & is Placed on Administrative Leave

Press release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office:

“On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 AM, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was made aware that Investigator Michael McDonald was arrested by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol in Craven County, North Carolina for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Speeding.  

Investigator McDonald has been placed on Administrative Leave while an internal investigation is conducted.  

Investigator McDonald was hired by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on July 2015 and promoted to Investigator on February 2020. He is assigned to the Narcotics Division.”
