Suspect Takes Elderly Woman’s Purse from Car at Augusta Publix

-

Two men are being sought for questioning after an elderly woman’s purse was grabbed from inside her vehicle outside a Publix grocery store in Augusta.

The 73-year-old woman said she was approached by a Hispanic man in the parking lot of the store on 2816 Washington Road.

“She set her purse in the passenger seat of the listed vehicle and got out, leaving the doors unlocked, to check on her car,” a report says. “While she was out of the vehicle the unknown Hispanic male opened her passenger door, removed her purse, and ran.”

The purse was later found in the store’s parking lot with $150 cash missing and a Wells Fargo debit card.

The pictured suspects are wanted for questioning. If you recognize the suspects, please contact Deputy James Price at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080. Callers can remain anonymous.
