An Augusta man is being sought for two break-ins at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment where he allegedly stole her iPhone and her pet chihuahua.
Rico Dontron Daniels, 49, was reportedly upset that his ex-girlfriend had broken up with him after a 10-month relationship and changed her phone number. So, he broke into her apartment on Goshen Road – twice.
After a second break-in on June 30, she returned from work to find her dog missing and a note in the pet’s crate that said, “Don’t call the police,” and, “You know who to call.”
The suspect eventually dropped off the dog to a Richmond County animal shelter, and the victim got the chihuahua back. Daniels is wanted for two counts of burglary.
Daniels has a long record of arrests involving shoplifting, simple battery and domestic violence, according to court records.
The suspect has made threats to harm himself and others in the past and might be in possession of a firearm, authorities said. Any information concerning this subject, please contact Inv.
