Wanted: Augusta Teen Accidentally Shoots Himself After Pulling Gun in PlayStation Dispute

-

An Augusta teen is wanted for aggravated assault after pulling a gun on a neighbor and accidentally shooting himself in the leg.

ZyRick Jackson, 18, allegedly pulled a gun on the 22-year-old neighbor after arguing over a PlayStation outside the Azalea Park Apartments on May 9. The neighbor told deputies that he tried to seize Jackson’s movement from pulling the gun on him with defensive techniques. As he was running away from the Jackson, he observed the teen shoot at him at least once.

At the time of the call, an investigator talked to Jackson, who said he accidentally shot himself in the legs during the struggle over the gun. He confessed to firing at the neighbor while the neighbor was running away from him on Fayetteville Drive.

Jackson was taken to the hospital for treatment of gunshots to both legs and later released. He is now wanted for aggravated assault and weapon possession. He is described as 5’9” tall and 120 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone that comes in contact with ZyRick Jackson or has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator Monga or any on call Investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1034.
