A Waynesboro man was arrested this week on child pornography charges after the search warrant turned multiple devices with illegal images, authorities said.
Jason Bonds Connelly, of the 200 block of East 7th Street, may have distributed over 50,000 child pornography and abuse files, said Capt. Jimmy Wylds with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
The search warrant was conducted by the sheriff’s office and the GBI, sparked by intelligence gathered through the GBI Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit.
“The Search Warrant resulted in multiple devices being recovered and the arrest of Jason Bonds Connelly,” a press release says. “Connelly is currently charged with 14 counts of Distribution of Child Pornography and 2 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.”
This investigation continues and more charges may be brought as warranted, Capt. Wylds said.
