Augusta Man Stabs Stepdaughter to Death at Olmstead Homes

-

An elderly Augusta man fatally stabbed his stepdaughter early Saturday when she wouldn’t leave his apartment at Olmstead Homes, authorities said.

George James Wilson, 75, is charged with murder in the death of 35-year-old Kelli Marie Lewis. She was stabbed around 3:41 a.m. Saturday in the apartment at 2101 Broad Street and pronounced dead about an hour later.

Authorities say the victim was watching TV with her mother. Wilson came into the bedroom and said the daughter needed to leave. The victim refused. The suspect left the room and allegedly returned with a knife, stabbing his stepdaughter in the chest.

He is being held without bond at the Richmond County Detention Center.

Wilson is a felon who served time for drug trafficking and was convicted last year of domestic violence, serving a 120-day sentence.
