Nine Men Arrested for Solicitation for Prostitution in Augusta; Bust Comes After Vice Crackdown on Women

Nine men have been arrested in Richmond County’s latest crackdown on prostitution, according to jail records.

The arrests come just two weeks after six women were arrested for prostitution, according to jail records.

Members of the RCSO Narcotics/Vice/Gang division are known for setting up operations in local hotel rooms. In this case, arrests were made Tuesday. They usually target both the women who sell themselves online, the men who solicit services and any others who transport prostitutes.

Here are the names of the nine men arrested on Tuesday and charged with solicitation or transport for prostitution:

  • Alejandro Estrada, 24, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Olguin Garcia, 19, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Alexis Dominguez, 21, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Reginald Hughes, 44, of Waynesboro, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Tehuintle Tecpile, 34, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Rayundo Blanco, 51, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Brian Haywood, 56, of Augusta, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • Basilio Gomez, 28,  Solicitation or transport for prostitution
  • David Shellman, 43, of Augusta, Solicitation or transport for prostitution
