The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday the results of a two-year operation called “Operation No Loyalty” to dismantle a violent drug-trafficking organization in the Augusta area.
Sixty people were targeted in a two-phase operation, netting multiple arrests, seizures of stolen firearms as well as large amounts of narcotics. A third phase is currently underway, sheriff’s Chief Deputy Pat Clayton said.
“While some individuals remain at large, Sheriff Richard Roundtree is pleased to announce the arrests of several drug trafficking co-conspirators involved in the Ellis McDaniel-Joshua McDaniel Drug Trafficking Organization,” a press release says.
In addition, the agency announced the arrests of several drug trafficking and violent crime co-conspirators from the Trap Money hybrid criminal street gang targeting Davion Heath, Dezmund Demmons, Devin Allen-Glover and several of their associates.
Officers seized houses, vehicles, firearms, large amounts of drugs and nearly half a million dollars in cash.
During Phase 1 of the investigation, 16 search warrants were executed and Investigators were able to seize the following:
• 16 kilograms of cocaine
• 7 kilograms of fentanyl
• 1 pound of methamphetamine
• 29 pounds of marijuana
• 34 firearms
• $319,909 in United States Currency
• Six vehicles
• Two houses

• $143,824 in United States currency

“We anticipate additional charges with both State and Federal indictments expected,” the sheriff’s release said. “This is a continuation of Sheriff Roundtree’s commitment to the disruption and dismantling of dangerous violent drug trafficking organizations and criminal street gangs in our community while also targeting those that support and enable these criminal drug trafficking enterprises.”
