RICHMOND COUNTY: Augusta Felon Wanted for Shooting Live-In Girlfriend

-

An Augusta man is being sought for shooting his live-in girlfriend in the arm Friday inside their apartment at East Augusta Commons.

Alexander Lee Collier, 40, was reportedly upset that the victim was talking to another man even though he had been talking to another woman, authorities said.

The victim said Collier shoved her and punched her, so she threw a cell phone at him in self-defense. Collier went to a bedroom and retrieved a gun and shot her in the arm. He fled the apartment when she went to call the cops, authorities said.

The victim was taken to Augusta University Medical Center for her injuries, described as a flesh wound.

Collier is wanted for aggravated assault, weapon possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was convicted in 2002 of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

Any information concerning Collier, please contact Inv. Stephen Brown 706-821-4848, or any On-Duty Investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080.
