RICHMOND COUNTY: Man Fatally Shot Outside Augusta Convenience Store on Broad Street

-

A man was fatally shot Thursday night outside a Broad Street convenience store in Augusta.

Richmond County authorities responded at 7:35 p.m. Thursday to the Mom & Pop’s Convenience Store at 2025 Broad Street.

“Upon deputies arrival, they located one male victim who had been shot at least one time,” sheriff’s Sgt. Caleb Lee said.  “The victim was transported to the hospital where he would succumb to his injuries.”

The name of the victim has not been released, and the sheriff’s office has not released any suspect description or possible motive.

The shooting follows Tuesday night’s gunfire outside a Greene Street grocery business. In that case, four people were shot Tuesday night in an apparent drive-by shooting at the Paul’s IGA on Greene Street. Richmond County deputies were called just after 6 p.m. Tuesday to the store at 2 Greene St., where they found two victims. They were made aware that two additional victims had driven themselves to the hospital.
